Seachem Flourish Iron is a highly concentrated iron supplement specifically formulated for the aquatic planted tank. Iron (Fe) is a critical micronutrient that plays a vital role in chlorophyll production, which is essential for photosynthesis and vibrant green colouration in plants.

Iron deficiency is common in aquariums, especially high-light tanks, and leads to chlorosis (severe yellowing) of the newest, youngest leaves. Flourish Iron uses a highly bio-available ferrous iron ($\text{Fe}^{2+}$) gluconate complex, which plants can absorb easily and immediately. Unlike some iron supplements that use less effective forms, this liquid formula is stable and readily available to plants over time.

Key Benefits and Features:

  • Essential Micronutrient: Supplies vital iron (Fe) for chlorophyll production.

  • Deficiency Correction: Corrects and prevents iron deficiency symptoms, primarily yellowing of new leaves.

  • Highly Bio-Available: Uses ferrous iron (Fe2+) gluconate, the form most easily utilized by plants.

  • Stable Formula: The iron remains soluble and available to plants for a longer period.

  • Safe Formula: Safe for all fish and invertebrates when used as directed.

  • Versatile Use: Can be used to supplement the iron content provided by Seachem Flourish (the comprehensive supplement).

Dosing Recommendation:

  • Standard Dose: Use 5 ml (one capful) for every 250 litres of water.

  • Result: This dose raises iron by 0.10 mg/L (ppm).

  • Recommended Frequency: Dose 1–2 times per week or as needed to maintain iron levels, or in response to visible signs of iron deficiency in plants.

Use an iron test kit to monitor levels and adjust dosing accordingly. The typical recommended iron range is 0.1 to 0.5 mg/L.
