Tips for changing your cat's diet
In order to change your cat's food, we recommend a gradual transition to avoid stomach problems. Usually this takes about 7 days, but it's best to watch your cat to make sure the transition is going well.
To begin the transition, introduce the new food in a small proportion of the old - we recommend a ratio of 25% new food to 75% old food - and gradually increase the ratio of the new food over approximately 7 days, until your cat has completely switched to the new food. Be sure to monitor your cat's behavior and food intake during this time.
We recommend a ratio of 25% new food to 75% old food for the first few days, and if all signs are good, move to 50%/50% after about 4 days, 75%/25% after about 6 days. Finally, switch to 100% of the new food after 7 or 8 days if your cat continues to react well and tolerates his new food.
Additionally, we recommend that you maintain the same feeding routine, keeping the same meal times and areas while transitioning your cat to their new food. Don't hesitate to talk to your veterinarian if you have any concerns about your cat during this transition.
